Local boy to run Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon for Portsmouth Police officer

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Braxton Lee, the 8-year-old who ran for a fallen Virginia State Trooper last year, is running yet another race.

This time, it is in honor of Portsmouth Police Officer Angelina Baaklini.

Officer Baaklini was seriously injured earlier this month after being shot by a 15-year-old five times.

The Portsmouth Police Department reported the officer is making progress but does have a long way to go before she can return to full duty.

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.

Following the race, the flag Lee will be running with will be given to Baaklini at the hospital.
