Man seriously hurt after teeanage driver's car hops curb, hits him

A car hit a pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, near the intersection of Indian River Road and Campostella Road.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A person had serious injuries after someone hit him with a car Wednesday morning.

The car ran up on a curb at the 7-Eleven at 1618 E. Indian River Rd. around 3:30 a.m. It struck the 45-year-old man who was standing in front of the store.

Norfolk police said a 17-year-old girl was trying to park the car when it happened. The teenager stayed on there afterwards.

Medics took the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police expected him to survive.

At this time, no charges have been filed. Police were continuing their investigation.
