New domestic violence hotline program launched for Hampton Roads

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A big announcement was made Friday to mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month here in Hampton Roads.

A new hotline and community response program will help victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking.

Attorney General Mark Herring was at the ribbon cutting in Norfolk.

The initiative connects a victim to a one-stop shop of resources that can help them find safety, no matter where they are.

The phone number is 757-251-0144. The initiative was launched by four non-profit organizations in Hampton Roads.
