Norfolk man arrested after robbing two convenience stores

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to commercial robberies.

Demond A. White, 30, was arrested without incident on Thursday. Police positively identified White during the course of their investigations into two commercial robbery incidents.

White robbed Tinee Giant located at 2338 E. princess Avenue on November 14. During the robbery, White brandished a handgun and demanded money. The clerk fled to the back of the business and White ran off before police arrived.

The second robbery occurred on November 17. White was again armed with a handgun and demanded money from the Good Time Mini Mart located at 2327 Sewells Point Road. After obtaining money, White discharged his gun before exiting the store. No one was injured, and White fled the scene before first responders arrived.

White has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of Use of Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, one count of Attempted Felonious Assault, and Wearing a Mask in Public.

White is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
