On Monday, 25-year-old Gary Lee Drew Jr., was arrested by members of the Norfolk Police Fugitive Squad and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
He is facing charges of 2nd degree murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Neighbors say they're shocked.
They told us they live on a family friendly street within walking distance from Norview Middle School.
“They all (neighbors) went to school here. Grew up, started a family," said Joseph Chaldress. He grew up visiting family on Ivaloo Street.
June Sherman said she lives next door to where the incident took place. She said she heard the screaming form a female neighbor she hasn't met yet, “It definitely was not an easy feeling. It was very uncomfortable and scary,” said Sherman.
Sherman moved into her house just three months ago.
She said police knocked on her door just after 2:00 AM.
Sherman said, “they were looking for somebody that had walked by and my brother has a camera in the window. We were hoping that we might have caught something.”
