Police look for man accused of sexual assault of clerk during robbery

Norfolk police said a robber sexually assaulted a clerk at the 7-Eleven at the corner of West 21st Street and Granby Street on July 29, 2017.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are working to identify a person accused of the sexual assault of a clerk during a robbery Saturday.

Officers said the man entered the 7-Eleven at 100 W. 21st St. shortly before 5 a.m. and pulled out a gun.

He robbed the business, then forced the clerk into a back room where he sexually assaulted her. The robber then left.

He is described as a black man in his mid-20’s, around 5’6” to 5’8” tall.

He wore a black T-shirt, black pants, a black beanie style cap, and reflective sunglasses.

Detectives ask anyone with information about who he is to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
