The Palace nightclub taking fight to court to reopen doors

The owner of the 'Palace Night Club' says he will file a petition for review with the "Virginia Supreme Court".

After being closed for nearly three months, the owner of the Palace Night Club is fighting to reopen his doors.

Kevin Bullock told our partners at The Virginian-Pilot that he plans to file a petition for review with the "Virginia Supreme Court".

A Norfolk Circuit Court refused to overturn City Council's revocation of the club's liquor license, which allowed him to serve alcohol and offer entertainment.

However, after citing the club's history of violence, council members revoked the license at the end of February.

Bullock told the Pilot he believes race is playing a factor after disputing that the city has no evidence to associate his club with any crime or violating any fire code, health or liquor license violations.

Norfolk officials also say the club owes more than $180,000 in taxes.
