NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- City of Norfolk is giving you a chance to save on your car property tax bill.
The Norfolk Commissioner of the Revenue, Evans Poston, is hosting two "Car Tax Relief" days.
Employees of the office check interior and body damage, plus mileage. Last year, the city evaluated around 200 cars, and people saved about $27,000.
13News Now caught up with driver Garry Stocker, whose Toyota Tundra was accessed.
"I'm saving myself about 100 dollars. That's great. That helps me a lot because I'm on a fixed income," said Stocker.
On May 19, you can get your car checked out until 3 p.m. at the Lakewood Park, located at 1612 Willow Wood Drive.
Your next chance will be on May 26 at Southside Aquatics, located at 1750 Campostella Road.
"I can't believe it, you know I'm happy, I'm happy as you can be," said Stocker.
