Two children, eight adults displaced after two fires in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Firefighters battled two house fires, Tuesday. 

The first fire occurred in the 1200 block of W. Little Creek Rd. around 8:30 p.m. The fire began in the garage before extending into the home. Fire crews attacked the fire from within the home, and had it under control in 30 minutes. 

At least two pets died due to the smoke conditions inside the home. One cat was treated at the scene, and survived. 

Two children, and six adults were displaced due to the fire, no injuries were reported.

The second fire occurred in the 2800 block of Merrimack Court. The fire began at 8:30 p.m. When crews arrived on scene they found smoke and flames visible from outside the building. Crews attacked the fire from inside of the building and had it under control in 20 minutes. 

Two adults were displaced in the fire, no injures were reported.
