Man indicted for Portsmouth cold case murder

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- A grand jury has handed indictments down in connection to a 2007 murder in Portsmouth.

36-year-old Reginald Lee Jordan, Jr. was indicted for first-degree felony murder, use of a firearm in the commission of murder, and gang participation.  The charges stem from the 2007 shooting of Bryan Williams.

Portsmouth Police said Williams was found shot on the evening of May 4, in the 6200 block of Centenary Drive in Churchland. Williams was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

“Whether they are current cases or 10-year-old cold cases, this office will vigorously investigate and prosecute offenders who commit violent crimes," Commonwealth's Attorney Stephanie Morales said in a statement.

Jordan will be in court Wednesday morning for a bond hearing.
