Portsmouth educator scores big in lottery game, wins new Corvette

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- A Portsmouth assistant principal has some extra cash for last minute shopping this year. He won the Virginia Lottery's "Ultimate Corvette Experience" drawing!

Ken Austin got his new wheels Friday at Priority Chevrolet in Chesapeake on Friday.

Austin won the Corvette Stingray and $100,000 after his ticket was picked from more than 750,000 entries.

Austin, who is an assistant principal at Churchland High School, says he intends to use the $100,000 portion of his winnings to invest in his children's education.
