SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Suffolk Police confirm that the body of a missing man was recovered in the water near Constant's Wharf.
53-year-old Derek Cason was last seen Sunday morning on North Main Street, wearing a McDonald's uniform and a green coat. Police said Cason was endangered, because he had diminished mental capacity and a condition that required medication.
Dive crews were called out to the nearby wharf on Wednesday, where Cason's body was recovered. Investigators believe Cason had been walking along the road and did not heed the signs warning of high water following the torrential flooding rains of Hurricane Matthew.
