Road now open where tractor trailer hit train trestle in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The 1400 block of Holland Road is now open to all traffic after crews from Norfolk Southern Railway inspected and repaired damages to a train trestle, following a crash that involved a tractor trailer on Friday.

Authorities responded to the accident in the 1300 block of Holland Road shortly before noon. The tractor trailer stayed on scene, and no one was injured.

Following the incident, traffic in the immediate area was initially alternated, however, the roadway is now completely closed at that location until Norfolk Southern Railway staff can confirm the safety of the trestle.

Detours have been put into place. Westbound traffic in the 1300 block of Holland Road is being routed to Lake Cohoon Roach.
