Police search for person of interest in fatal shooting

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are searching for a man they believe has information regarding a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday. 

Someone contacted emergency dispatchers about a shooting around 12:25 p.m.

Witnesses told 13News Now they saw two bodies on the ground.

Police identified one victim as 23-year-old Dalvin Henderson. 

Because of the situation there and in the Factory Street area, Suffolk Public Schools kept children who live in the neighborhood at their respective schools until police gave the "all clear."

Parents were able to pick up their children.. Once the "all clear" came, students who were not picked up were taken home by bus.

Officials are now looking for Wallace Maurice Gore. Gore is not a suspect in the shooting, but is a person of interest.

Gore is 51-years-old, he is described as a black man, he is 5'07" tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and his last known address was in Portsmouth.
