Firefighter injured battling Virginia Beach residential fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- An unoccupied home was destroyed, and a firefighter was injured early Wednesday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., firefighters were called to the scene on the 3300 block of Head River Road in Virginia Beach.

According to authorities, no civilians were hurt. The firefighter was transported to Sentara Princess Anne hospital for minor injures sustained on the fire ground.

Approximately 30 Fire and EMS personnel were on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No further information was released.
