VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Plans for the old Dome site are moving forward.
Four developers are in the running to repurpose the site, which is located between 18th and 20th Streets, bordered by Pacific and Arctic Avenues. For years the city has been trying to develop the nearly 10-acre site that formerly housed the Dome, which has been vacant since the building's demolishment in 1994.
Among those developers bidding is ESG Companies, the sister company to United States Management, which is building the Oceanfront arena.
The developers will interview and then a committee will select the finalists.
A decision is expected this summer.
