VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Two people were killed in an accident on Interstate 264 near Birdneck Road on Wednesday morning.
Westbound lanes of I-264 near Birdneck Road are back open after a fatal accident shut down the roadway for hours on Wednesday morning.
Virginia State Police say 61-year-old Michael Terance Goldstone was killed when his Ford Taurus came across the median and into oncoming traffic on westbound I-264. Goldstone’s vehicle struck a Toyota Corolla driven by 53-year-old Darlene Varney.
Goldstone’s car then struck a green Suzuki Sidekick driven by 23-year-old Aaron Miles Collier. Both Goldstone and Collier died at the scene.
Varney was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital with minor injuries.
Collier's family has created a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
All westbound lanes closed at 7:44 a.m. Crews reopened the lanes around 11 a.m.
