Missing 11-year-old girl from Virginia Beach has been found safe

Penelope Corbett she could be in danger. She was last seen around 3:30 on Monday afternoon

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Updated at 3:42 a.m.:

Virginia Beach Police has announced that the missing 11-year-old has been found safe.

11:12 p.m. on December 1: Virginia Beach Police are searching for a missing and endangered 11-year-old girl.

Penelope 'Nelly' Corbett is 4'11" with blue eyes and blonde hair. She was last seen on Monday around 3:30 p.m. at her house on the 1200 block of Old Virginia Beach Road.

She was last seen wearing animal printed pajama pants and a dark grey shirt with an animal on it. She was carrying a backpack.

Police were alerted on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The Virginia Beach Search and Rescue Team have been activated and are currently assisting the Virginia Beach Police find the girl.

She is in need of her glasses and they may not be in her possession at this time.
