Three officers sickened after responding to cardiac arrest call

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating after three officers fell ill while answering a cardiac arrest call Tuesday.

Just before 5:15 p.m. officers arrived in the 1300 block of Sapphire Drive to help someone suffering from a cardiac arrest. That person was taken to a local area hospital for treatment.

Later that evening, three officers who responded to the call were all taken to a local hospital after they began to feel sick. All three were evaluated and have been released.

As a precautionary measure, the Virginia Beach Fire Department sent its Hazmat Team to check things out.

So far, there's no word on if they found anything.
