VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- As plans begin to take shape for an 18,000-seat arena near the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, one big question remains unanswered: where is everyone going to park?
The arena would replace hundreds of parking spots outside the Convention Center. On possible solution would be a garage with nearly 2,500 spaces.
But according to our partners at The Virginian-Pilot, city council won't even discuss the idea until the arena's developer closes on its private loan.
We're told that should happen very soon.
If built, that parking garage would cost the city $36 million.
