Five people injured after vehicle crashes into Bank of America

The driver of the vehicle and one person inside the bank were taken to the hospital.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Emergency crews responded after a vehicle crashed into a building in Virginia Beach, shortly after noon Tuesday.

Police said the accident happened at the Bank of America located in the 1300 block of Fordham Drive.

The driver was taken to the hospital, along with one person who was inside the bank at the time of the crash. 

Three other people inside the bank had minor injuries but refused to be transported. Officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

The Virginia Beach Fire Department does not believe the building is a threat to collapse. All personnel but its manager are out of the building.
