Noose Found Hanging at NC A&T, UNCG's JSNN Campus; Contractor Fired

Greensboro, N.C.-- A contractor has been fired after a noose was found hanging inside a facility at NC A&T, UNCG's Joint School of Nanoscience and NanoEngineering (JSNN).

The incident was reported Tuesday. Campus police for both universities and the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) responded and during the investigation, they say an outside contractor admitted to putting up the noose as a 'joke'.

NC A&T State University's Chancellor Dr. Harold Martin stated in a memo to the students the contractor had been fired. He also said the contractor will not be allowed to work for either university or Gateway University Research Park in the future. The memo was posted on the school's Facebook page and Instagram sites.

Dr. Martin went on to say in the memo:

I am deeply disturbed by this incident; such actions have no place at our university or in our society and certainly will not be tolerated. I am grateful to our police department and our colleagues at JSNN for bringing the matter to a close.

Just in case you missed it; the message sent by the Chancellor himself #NCAT
