Power outages planned Tuesday for parts of the Outer Banks

RODANTHE, N.C. (WVEC) -- Some residents of North Carolina's Outer Banks will briefly be in the dark on Tuesday.

The Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative said maintenance of their transmission system will mean some areas could see outages of up to 30 minutes on December 5.

Customers in Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo can expect a 30-minute outage beginning at 8 a.m., and another 30-minute outage beginning at 3 p.m.

Customers in Avon can expect a 5-minute power outage beginning at 3 p.m.

The electric company says if your power is not restored following the planned maintenance, to call them at 866-511-9862.
