KITTY HAWK, NC (WVEC) -- Starting Monday, the eastbound lanes of the Wright Memorial Bridge will be closed for the winter.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is refurbishing the surface of the bridge. It connects mainland North Carolina to the Outer Banks.
All traffic will now be shifted to the westbound lanes.
The project is expected to be finished next year, and the lanes are set to reopen in May.
