NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A little bit of rain didn't stop thousands from coming out to the 35th Annual Great American Picnic.
Between the vendors setting up to the people pouring into the park, rain delayed events just a little bit.
The concert scheduled for 7 p.m. was pushed back an hour. But, that didn't spoil the holiday plans.
"My kids really wanted to come out so we decided to come out anyway," said Shannon Rome.
Coming out was a good decision for most people.
Although the evening started a little slow because of weather, it ended just the way they wanted it to: with a fireworks show.
"We're having fun. We're going to hang out," said Michael Waller, who drove down from Pennsylvania.
