Two men arrested for stealing possessions from car in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Suffolk police have arrested two individuals related to thefts from vehicles on Thursday.

Jacob Tyler Groff and Robert Lee Allen, both 20, were arrested on charges of tampering with automobiles, petit larceny, credit card fraud, identity theft, conspiracy to commit a felony and obsession of burglary tools.

Early Wednesday morning police were made aware of two adult males tampering with a vehicle on South Broad Street. When officers arrived, they were not able to locate the individuals.

Several hours later investigators were alerted of suspicious individuals at a business on the 800 block of West Washington Street matching the same descriptions.

The two were attempting to use stolen credit cards.

Due to the quick actions of observant citizens in contacting police when criminal activity was seen, officers could apprehend these offenders

Police would like to remind citizens that, "If you see something, say something" and not to rely on others if you see suspicious activity.
