U.S. Marshals, police arrest man in connection to deadly shooting in Ocean View

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police arrested a person wanted for a deadly shooting that took place in Ocean View in May.

U.S. Marshals, along with the Norfolk and Portsmouth fugitive squads, took Jamal Branch, 22, into custody in Portsmouth Thursday. They found him at a home in the 200 block of Dale Dr. and arrested Branch around 5:30 p.m.

Branch was accused of shooting 23-year-old Richard Eyerman in the 1100 block of E. Ocean View Ave. on May 21. Eyerman later died.

Police charged Branch with Second Degree Murder and Use of  Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

He is in the Norfolk City Jail.
