Veterans remembered in Hampton Roads with wreath laying ceremonies

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- People from across Hampton Roads honored veterans on Dec. 16 by laying wreaths on their graves. 

Nearly 8,300 wreaths were laid by volunteers at Albert G. Horton Junior Memorial  Veterans Cemetery.

Donations were made throughout the year to make the event possible. 

In Hampton, Wreaths Across America honored the nation's heroes along with the Navy Wives Club of America.

The events were a part of a nationwide movement to remember, honor and teach.
