WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (Delmarva Now) -- An 8-foot-7, 362-pound great white shark named Cisco continues to ping off of the southern coast of Wallops Island, according to Ocearch Global Shark Tracker. The most recent ping is dated Oct. 25 at 5:47a.m.
Cisco was originally tagged on Oct. 7 in Nantucket, Massachusetts and has pinged off of the coast of Delaware and Maryland on what appears to be a southward journey. A ping occurs and is charted when a shark’s dorsal fin breaks the surface of the water and the tag can send information to an overhead satellite.
