WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- A generator fire is to blame for power outages at the College of William & Mary on Monday and Tuesday.
Suzanne Seurattan, the spokesperson for the school, told 13News Now that emergency crews tended to the outside fire on Monday morning. There was no damage to buildings or no injuries reported.
"Power definitely out today [Monday] at the Botetourt Complex but most of the power on campus should be restored in the next couple of hours," Seurattan said.
Just after noon on Tuesday, power was restored on campus.
Residents at Botetourt Complex, who were temporarily relocated to nearby hotels, will have through 11 a.m. on Wednesday to move back into their residence halls.
The underlying cause of the transformer failure is still under investigation.
