(Delmarvanow.com) -- Christmas might be one of the few times a year when you can be taken back in time just by listening to a song or tasting something that reminds you of grandma's homemade cranberry sauce.
If you want to go back in time even further, here are some events on Delmarva offering old-time Christmas experiences.
Lewes: Christmas Tour of Lewes
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 2
Cost: $25 in advance, $30 day of, children 12 and younger accompanied by an adult are free
The 44th annual Christmas Tour of Lewes benefits the Lewes Historical Society. The tour is self-guided and allows the society to show off its historical houses that are decorated for the season. Several private homes have been asked to participate, as well.
The society's museums will also be open and decorated for Christmas. The Lewes Historical Society Campus at 110 Shipcarpenter St. will feature a Christmas antiques and collectibles sale, cookie sale, holiday green sale and an open house.
Princess Anne: Teackle Mansion Candlelight Reception and Dinner
When: 6 p.m. Dec. 2
Cost: $45 per person
Buffet dinner with an oyster bar. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction. The mansion will be decorated for Christmas
All the proceeds go to the Somerset County Historical Society, and event is being catered by the Washington Inn. Tickets can be purchased at Somerset Choice Antiques.
There is a house tour prior to the reception from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Those tickets can be purchased for $15 at Somerset Choice Antiques.
Berlin: Calvin B. Taylor House Museum Holiday Tours
When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2
Cost: $5 per person
The house will be open for Christmas tours. Wassail and gingerbread will be served.
Salisbury: Poplar Hill Mansion Yuletide Open House
When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3
Cost: Free, donations welcome
The mansion will be fully decorated. The first floor will feature greenery, flowers and arrangements from the Four Seasons Garden Club.
The second floor will feature a Christmas tree with more than 1,500 decorations, Christmas village and the Nutcracker Nursery.
Christmas music will be played by harpist Kara Dahl Russell. Light refreshments will be served.
Snow Hill: Julia A Purnell Museum Victorian Christmas Celebration
When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3
Cost: $2 for adults
The museum will be decorated for the season and will be accompanied by special exhibits with Victorian style Christmas decorations. Mulled cider and old fashioned sweets will be served.
Chincoteague: "Savor the Season" Progressive Home Tour at Bill's PRIME Seafood and Steaks
When: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 8
Must be 21 years old or older.
Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the Christmas season at Chincoteague's only progressive dinner tour featuring three courses.
Enjoy hors d'oeuvres at Channel Bass Inn. The second course will be at the Home of the famous Taylor Street Cowboys, where guests will be able to enjoy a cowboy dinner with stylish country decor and a grand yard display.
For the final course, guests will be transported to a Christmas wonderland as they arrive at Christmas Manor. Guests will be greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who will be offering a tour of their home, yard display and desserts and Christmas sweets.

Onancock: Onancock Christmas Homes Tours
When: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 9
Cost: $15 before Nov. 23, $20 after
Visit six homes with differing architectural styles decorated for Christmas.
Ocean View: Olde Time Christmas at the Ocean View Historical Complex
When: Noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 9
Enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas at the Ocean View Historical Complex with festive decorations, sounds and smells of winters of old. Park at the Ocean View Town Hall.
Vienna: Luminaria Night Celebration
When: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 16
More than 1,500 luminarias will line Vienna's streets this Christmas.
Private homes will be decorated, and the Customs House and ferry Toll Collector's House as well as community churches will open their doors for tours, Christmas music and refreshments.
