Bomb threat on USS Leyte Gulf at Naval Station Norfolk, cleared

USS Leyte Gulf had a bomb threat called, but has been cleared

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A bomb threat was reported on the USS Leyte Gulf at the Naval Station Norfolk Wednesday night.

According to officials, a call came in around 8:30 p.m. while the guided missile destroyer was at pier 6.

Authorities immediately jumped into action and did a full security sweep.

Nothing was found.

An investigation is currently underway.
