Missing Essex County 14-year-old found safe

Relief for those searching for a missing teen in Essex County.

ESSEX COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- The missing 14-year-old girl missing from Essex County has been found on Monday.

On Friday the 14-year-old girl went missing and police believed she may be endangered.

The Essex County Sheriff's Office was looking for Elise Kristine Wenig, 14, who is 5'1" and 150 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes.

She was last seen wearing a long black coat, a black Adidas hoodie, blue jeans, black Nike sneakers, pink glasses and she has a nose ring.

The child is believed to be in danger and was last seen at Essex High School. Police believe she may be in the company of Jennifer Sherman-Wenig.

The suspect is described as a white female, 34-years-old, 5'2", 210 pounds with green eyes and red hair.

The Virginia State Police and Virginia Missing Children Clearing House issued the alert on behalf of the Essex County Sheriff's Office.
