Motor home destroyed in Suffolk fire

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Emergency crews battled a fire that destroyed a motor home Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. at South Main Street and Granby Street.

According to Captain Steven Johnson, fire fighters arrived to find a motor home with heavy flames. The fire did not spread to any other homes in the area, but a Dominion Virginia Power line was exposed to the flames.

The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes, and no one was injured.

An investigation found that the engine of the motor home was on when the fire occurred, but the vehicle wasn't in operation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
