VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A brand new ALDI grocery store will be opening in Virginia Beach, Thursday, December 15.
The new grocery store will be located at 1436 Kempsville Rd. This will be the first ALDI store in the Virginia Beach area.
To celebrate, the store will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. opening day.
The first 100 shoppers will each receive a golden ticket. That ticket will contain ALDI gift cards of different amounts.
Customers who come on opening day will be able to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year's supply of ALDI produce.
"We are pleased to bring out first store to Virginia Beach to help customers get high-quality products at everyday low prices," said Jeff Baehr, Frederick division vice president for ALDI. "We challenge shoppers to switch from national brands to our high-quality brands and save up to 50 percent without compromising. As important as price is, the only way to attract and keep shoppers is to have quality products."
The Virginia Beach location will also come with a new look, offering a modern and convenient shopping experience. It will have higher ceilings and natural lighting.
This new location will be open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
