One hospitalized in Newport News shooting

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- A shooting in Newport News sends one to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Police received a call at 10:41 a.m. about a shooting on the 3700 block of Marshall Avenue.

When police arrived at 10:43 a.m., officers located a 30-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to police his wound was in the back. Medics also responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital.

He is said to have non-life threatening injuries. 

There was no suspect information at this time.
