NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) – Police are investigating a shooting that left a teenager dead following a home invasion early Friday morning.

According to police, dispatchers received several calls just after midnight from people reporting they heard gunshots in the 8600 block of Glen Myrtle Avenue at the Breezy Point Apartments.

When officers arrived they found 17-year-old Kuwan Robinson laying outside the apartments suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

"I heard the guy-- the victim got shot eight or nine times. There are military families out here. It's quiet but it's starting to get wild," neighbor Donald Washington said.

About ten minutes later police say another man, 20-year-old Jamel Bridges, walked into DePaul Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He was accompanied by D'Marco Scott, 19, and a 15-year-old boy. Police took the two teens into custody.

Police believe that Robinson, Bridges, Scott, and the 15-year-old planned on breaking into the home when the two men were shot.

Bridges, Scott, and the minor have all been charged with Armed Burglary, Conspiracy and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
