Police: 70-year-old man 'violently assaulted' in road rage incident

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man they say violently assaulted a 70-year-old man. 

According to police, the assault was the result of a road rage incident that happened on London Bridge Road July 27. 

The argument escalated and the suspect assaulted the 70-year-old driver, leaving him with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect drove away in a white Ford 250 or 350 with chrome rims and front grill. The truck has a bed cover and tinted windows, it was last seen driving north on Virginia Beach Boulevard near First Colonial Road.

Police are searching for a white man, with a slender build and black hair that was possibly held back in a ponytail.
