Police investigate Walgreens robbery in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating after they say someone robbed a Walgreens early Thursday morning. 

The robbery happened in the 600 block of J. Clyde Morris Blvd. just before 4:30 a.m. 

According to a store employee, a black man entered the store and walked up to her as she was restocking shelves. He took out a knife and demanded she move to the front cash register. 

The suspect ran away after taking an unknown amount of money and the employee's wallet. 

No one was injured. 

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, dark jeans, and a mask.
