Police make arrest in Hampton shooting that left one man injured

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police have arrested one person in connection to a shooting that left a man injured Sunday morning. 

The shooting happened at the Executive Suite Apartments on West Mercury Blvd. just before 3:45 a.m.

A 30-year-old man was hit multiple times during the shooting, police found the man in a car parked at the Waffle House just a few blocks away. 

The man was taken to a local area hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay. 

22-year-old Hamza Karim-Idrissi was arrested for the shooting. He has been charged with one count of Aggravated Malicious Wounding and one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. 

Idrissi is in custody of the Hampton City Jail.
