Police: Wis. fan attacked over Vikings inflatable

STOUGHTON, Wis. - Police say a man suffered several cuts after he confronted another man who was vandalizing a Minnesota Vikings inflatable in his yard in the southern Wisconsin city of Stoughton.

The Stoughton Police Department says the incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday when the 36-year-old victim confronted a 21-year-old man damaging the inflatable in his front yard. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, police say the confrontation turned physical, leading to the resident being sliced multiple times by a box cutter.

The victim, identified by WISC-TV as Dave Moschel, was taken to Stoughton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He told the TV station in Madison he received multiple stitches on his forehead and under his eye. He said despite the attack, nothing will stop him from showing pride in his favorite football team.

Police say the alleged attacker was arrested at the scene on suspicion of first-degree reckless endangerment and criminal damage to property.

Stoughton is about 14 miles southeast of Madison.
