SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The Suffolk Peanut Festival has been canceled due to high winds and rain.

The decision to cancel the festival came Friday evening.

The event will be closed both Saturday, October 8, and Sunday, October 9.

Some of the larger attractions of the event, such as the Suffolk Mud Jam and the Suffolk Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally will be rescheduled for a later date. That date will be announced in the coming weeks.
