Suffolk store robbed at gunpoint, police search for suspect

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A family Dollar was robbed at gunpoint, and police are searching for the suspects.

On Sunday around 10 p.m., the Family Dollar at the 800 block of West Constance Road an unknown black man entered and implied that he had a weapon.

The suspect was able to take an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing on foot immediately following the incident.

The suspect had an accomplice wearing all grey waiting outside the store.

The armed suspect was described by police as a black man with a slim build, around 5'6" to 5'7" tall, scruff on his chin, wearing a royal blue sweatshirt, a black shirt covering his face, a black hat with brown fur on the front, jeans and dark shoes.

Authorities said no one was injured during the robbery.
