UPDATE - Woman charged in suspicious death case in Virginia Beach

Police initially posted on twitter that there had been a shooting, now they are calling the case a suspicious death

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating a suspicious death in Virginia Beach.

According to police, around 4:33 p.m. dispatch received a service call in the 600 block of Westminster Lane. When Virginia Beach Police arrived on the scene they located a deceased man.

On Saturday, police identified the victim as 59-year-old ​David R. Gonzalez of Virginia Beach.

Police said that a verbal dispute led to the shooting incident. They said that on the scene, they detained several individuals for further questioning.  

During the course of the investigation, 49-year-old Nancy M. Copeland was identified as the suspect and placed in police custody. Copeland was transported to the Virginia Beach Correctional Center and charged with Murder and Use of a Firearm during the commission of a crime.

She's currently being held without bond.
