Two people dead in suspected murder-suicide in Virginia Beach

Police were in Towne Square condominiums in Windsor Oaks where officers found two people dead inside a home on Wednesday.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police have identified the two people found dead last week in the Towne Square condominiums in Windsor Oaks.

Investigators say 37-year-old Jamie Marie Johnson and 29-year-old Marcel Nereo Blanco were each found with gunshot wounds on the morning of August 2. The case is being investigated as a homicide/suicide that is domestic in nature.

Neighbor Michael Vogelhoffler described the neighborhood as "a very quiet place, kind of like senior living."

Vogelhoffler said he woke up to police officers dispersed throughout his street.

"After they had knocked on the neighbor's door, then they got entrance to the house," said Vogelhoffler. "They went over and just went in and that's when apparently they found both of them inside."

Neighbor Todd Qayyum said he didn't know what to think when he saw the forensics trucks.

"I'm a little shooken up," said Qayyum. "I wish it hadn't hit so close to home but it happens, you know?"

Neighbors say a couple in their thirties had only lived in the home for a few months and normally kept to themselves.

"I really don't know," said Vogelhoffler. "They're quiet people, they were very friendly, I haven't a clue. It's shocking right now."
