NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The U.S. Navy has made changes to its pepper spray policy.
Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jon Richardson said in a Facebook video that sailors will no longer be required to get pepper sprayed every three years as part of their force protection training.
"Once is enough there. Once you get that experience, you never forget it," Richardson said.
The adjustment came after complaints from service members that getting sprayed with the substance every three years was too often.
