NORFOLK, Va.- Ryan Yarbrough is the first to admit, he's not a physically imposing pitcher. A slender 6-5, 205 pounds, the former ODU Monarch knows how to use other attributes to be a difference maker this season for the Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A affiliate, the Durham Bulls. "Everything is just kind of working. You just kind of trust everything the catcher is putting down", he says.
It's been working for him. Yarbrough currently sports a 10-5 record to go with an earned run average of 3.63 in 20 games. "I'm not going to be one of those guys that are going to blow it past you". Yarbrough's craftiness got him selected in the 4th round by the Seattle Mariners in 2014. The 25 year old enjoys the role he plays for the Bulls and hopes it leads to a call to the Rays. "As long as I can help the team win, that's all that matters."
