Hampton wins MEAC opener

The Pirates opened conference play with a 68-53 win over North Carolina A&T.

The Hampton Pirates won their MEAC opener 68-53 over North Carolina A&T Wednesday night at the Convocation Center. 

It was a back and forth affair in the first half. With the game tied at 29, Lysander Bracey hit a three to give the Pirates a 32-29 halftime lead. They never trailed again.

Bracey had 4 three pointers and was one of four Pirates in double figures. 

Sophomore Kalin Fisher led H.U. in scoring with 16.

All of Hampton's wins this season have come at home. They improve to (4-11).
