Jake Cave is coming into his own this baseball season after splitting time between New York Yankee affiliates Trenton (AA) and now Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA). He's been on a torrid pace of late. The Hampton native out of Kecoughtan High School was named International League Player Of The Month for July. During that time frame, he had 7 homeruns hitting .390. Currently the 24 year old is hitting .360 with the RailRiders to with 13 HR, and 31 RBI's.
Numbers like that should get you a move to New York, but for now Cave just stays focused on the task at hand of being consistent. "Hopefully I'm close", he says. "That's just one of those things you can't control. You can only worry about what you can control and what I can control is play hard everyday." In what appears to be a crowded Yankees lineup this season, Cave can only be patient.
