Manuel adjusting to life with the Raiders

The former Bayside Marlin is looking forward to a new future on the west coast with the Oakland Raiders.

NORFOLK, Va.- E.J. Manuel is all about keeping things positive. After four seasons where he spent his entire career as a Buffalo Bill, the Virginia Beach native and the club parting ways. Manuel headed west and signed a one year deal with the Oakland Raiders where he'll be a backup to Derek Carr. "It is an adjustment", he says. "From day one when I signed with the Raiders, it was just a different feel. Once I got in there, got my first couple of completions. It's still just football." He was in Norfolk recently attending Seahawks safety, Kam Chancellor's Celebrity Weekend.

Manuel was the odd man out in Buffalo when fellow Hampton Roads native, Tyrod Taylor (Hampton), got the starting job with the Bills. Taylor was selected to the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl as alternate, but turned it down due to an injury. The 27 year old Manuel still feels he's got plenty of football life left in the tank. "I'm still in the early stages. I still feel like I'm young in my career. Got alot of football ahead of me and I'm just looking forward to the future."
